History:

Taco Bell was first opened by Glen Bell, then Yum! Brand purchased the company, they also own Pizza Hut and KFC. Glen Bell had a mission for food, people, and the business which contributed to the success of Taco Bell. Glenn Bell creation of the "Taco Bell" was not his first try. Before starting the famous late night mexican cuisine based resturants, Bell owned four hamburger stands, two chains of taquerias and a miniature gold course. After selling he share of the all those business to a business partner or a family member, he opened his last food chain in Downey California in March 1962,  calling it Taco Bell.
Bell was not a wealthy child growing up, at a young age he worked to support his family. He was deployed overseas as a Marine in 1943 where he learned the skills the cooking and managing food overseas. When he could, he took the opportunity to go into the business on his own, came up with ideas to bring delicious food to hard working americans on a budget. He first started with burgers and years later he revolutionized the fast-food industry by selling his very first fast food taco in the 1950s.
In the 1960's, Glen Bell decided to change the architecture of his Taco Bell restaurant to give it a more authentic feel and commissioned an architect to revamp the company's look by designing the mission-style aesthetic that most Taco Bells across the globe still sport today.
